PROGRAM PROFILE: Impact of FCH Prescription Assistance Program on Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County

Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County has been serving the community for over 50 years, providing services and connections to resources to help low-income families obtain or retain their self-sufficiency. Community Action aims to Partner with the family to identify and address all their self-sufficiency obstacles. In a household struggling to make ends meet, health care is a significant expense and presents a certain financial burden.
Foundation for Community Health and Community Action Partnership have collaborated for over 10 years to meet the needs of low-income families. The Foundation for Community Health provides funding for prescriptions and prescriptions co-pays, for uninsured or underinsured families residing in rural communities in Eastern Dutchess County. In 2016, 91 households received assistance through this program, as a result 217 people were impacted!
