Empowering Families through Guaranteed Income
Grant funds will help establish and operationalize the Guaranteed Income for Columbia County program, a project developed and administered through the partnership of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and the Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood.
This pilot program furthers Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation’s (BTCF) commitment to serving under-resourced residents in our region and the Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood’s (GHPN) mission to provide support to individuals and families impacted by systemic oppression and failures. This initiative provides direct, unrestricted monthly payments of $500 to 42 single-parent families in Columbia County for 2 years. Recognizing that single-parenting comes with a host of barriers, like work-life balance and increased financial burdens, the program aims to benefit both parent and child by reducing financial uncertainty.
