Meeting the Moment through One-Time Inflation-Based Grants

Strengthen Organizations
Rapid Response
Organization: Geer Village Senior Community
Grant: $3,700
Grant Year: 2022
County: Litchfield
State: CT

Geer Village Senior Community was one of twelve organizations that were granted a one-time inflation-based grant in 2022.

Due to the nature of their work and sources of income, nonprofits are especially vulnerable to the effects of inflation. Understanding the effects of inflation on the organizations we partner with, FCH made grants to 12 grantee partners with program restricted funding from the foundation.

Why We Funded This

Funding for these inflation-based grants was rooted in the reality that 2022 saw the highest inflation rates in 40 years. The type of work and sources of income for many of our grantees put their organizations in a precarious position as they work to support their staff and clients. We responded by funneling extra dollars to our 2021 and several 2022 grantees to stabilize their operations and continue to support our community.
